He was predeceased by: his wife Nora McMahan Packett; his parents, Cecil Packett and Lucille Condra Packett; his brother Ronald Packett; his brothers-in-law, Bobby Hamilton and Mark Smith; his nephew Bradley Packett; and his niece Pam Hamilton.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeff (Lisa Packett) and Brian (Yvonne Packett); and his siblings, Mike Packett (Wanda), Robert Packett, Linda Hamilton and Patricia Smith. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
