In loving memory of John Russell Newman Sr. (Loudon, Tennessee), who departed this world on August 5, 2025 at the age of 97. John Russell leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Arnold Newman Sr. and Nettie Jane Newman; and his siblings, Homer A. Newman and Eleanor Jane Ross. He is survived by: his wife Carrie; his children, Dr. Cheryl Newman Whitlow (Mike), John Russell Newman Jr. (Stephanie) and Lydia Diana Newman (Trish); his great grandchildren, Henry Whitlow (Hank), Margaret Whitlow (Maggie), Lily, Conrad, Porter Finnegan, John Sullivan and Ward Whitlow; and his extended family, Ann Ross Hinkle, Jane Millsaps Smith, Ross Millsaps and Mark Millsaps.

Memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund of the Loudon Cumberland Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 373, Loudon, TN 37774.
