It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Virgil A. Graening of Loudon, Tennessee, who passed away on January 28, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Graening and Anetta Graening; his son David Dean; and his sisters, Carol Reagan and Beverly Schmidt.

He is survived by: his wife Maybeth Graening; his sons, Scott, Kevin (Melanie), Jason and Jaxon; his grandchildren, Sara, Michael, Alex and Katie; his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Hadden, Eleanor and Annie; and his siblings, Lavonne Miller and Larry Graening (Jill). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, 143 Chota Center, Loudon, TN 37774.
