We announce the death of Betty Tharp of Luttrell, Tennessee, who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 67. She was predeceased by: her parents, Estel Cooper and Idell Cooper; her husband Michael Lynn Tharp Sr.; her brothers, Clifford "Bunk" Hutchinson, Roger Cooper and Benny Cooper; her parents-in-law, Velama and Coy Tharp; and her siblings-in-law, Linda Washam, Dee Anna Cooper and Coy "Dick" Tharp.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Lynn Tharp Jr. (Melissa) and Michelle Ann Hensley (DeWayne); her grandchildren, Melanie, Jonathan, Hannah, Mason, Haley and Tara; her great grandchild Abbey; and her sisters, Lois Beason and Linda Welch. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cooke-Campbell Mortuary (220 TN-61, Maynardville, TN 37807). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 8:00 PM at the Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel (220 TN-61, Maynardville, TN 37807). A procession will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Cooke-Campbell Mortuary (220 TN-61, Maynardville, TN 37807). A burial will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Baker Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the funeral home towards the funeral expenses.
