He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Newsome and Leutisha Craft Newsome; his son Douglas Raye Newsome; and his siblings, Earl Keaton (Dixie), Margaret "Irene" Wright (William), Clarence Keaton (Zella), Leo Russell and Calla "Louise" Newsome Hall.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Newsome of Lyles; and his sons, Jeffrey Newsome of Crossville, James (Reba) of Crossville, Timothy Newsome of Chattanooga, Daniel Newsome of Crossville and Steven Newsome of South Bend. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great children.
The military honors was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at the Calvary Cemetery (2701 Willowdale Rd, Portage, IN 46368). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Lyles United Pentecostal Church (8514 Lyles Rd, Lyles, TN 37098).
