She was predeceased by: her husband L. O. Cates; her aunt Tressie Mae Brady; and her siblings, Kenneth Dooley, Margaret Ann Inselman, Joyce McBride and Betty Presley.
She is survived by: her children, Darin Cates, Teresa Cates and Lynn Cates. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
