He was predeceased by: his parents, James Andrew "Jim" Hindman and Pauline Hayes Hindman; his wife Ruby Uptain Hindman; and his son Melvin Hindman, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughter Dina Daniels (Mike); his grandchildren, Dara Crabtree (Keith), Fara Paul (Seth), Chad Brown and Jordan Hindman; his great grandchildren, Preslee Crabtree, Emeree Crabtree, Kade Brown, Isley Kate Hindman and Rhett Paul; and his sister Elizabeth Holt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
