He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Wally and Isabelle Drew Phillips; and his brothers, Thaddaeus McCoy Phillips, Charles Stanley Phillips, Carlos Frederick Phillips, John Earl Phillips, Jesse Clinton Phillips and Sherman Edward Phillips.

He is survived by: his wife Anita Phillips; his daughter Kristin Lea Phillips; and his son-in-law Christopher Reynolds.
