He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wesley Carter and Tennie Mae Ridner Carter; his wife Edna Mae Daniel Carter; and his brother Wayne Carter. He is survived by: his children, Vicki Dendis (Jim) and Kevin Carter (Patti); his granddaughters, Ryan Carter and Kelsey Nelson (Will); his great grandchildren, Kylee Brown, Noah Carter-Russ, Owen Nelson and Parker Nelson; his siblings, Reba Teal, Geneva Jenkins, Betty Currie and Lynn Carter; and his pet Thomas Midi. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Central Funeral Home (2812 Hillsboro Hwy, Manchester, TN 37355). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blanton's Chapel Global Methodist Church in Manchester, TN, or your favorite charitable organization in memory of Mr. Carter.
