He is survived by : his wife Janet Cheatham Powers; his sons, David Powers (Jan Trowhill), Kevin Powers (Mandy) and Jesse Powers (Angie); and his stepchildren, James Henry, Julie Arnold and Jennifer Henry. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Martin Church of Christ (233 Oxford St, Martin, TN 38237). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
