He was predeceased by: his parents, Mae Kelly Bales and Albert Helton; his wife Mildred Helton; his sons, Avery W. Helton and Bobby W. Helton; and his siblings, A. C. Helton, Charles Helton and Bernice Terry.
He is survived by: his son Michael S. Helton (Tonya); his grandchildren, Kristen Mertz (Mitch), Shellie Helton, Shana Superdock (William), Bobbie Bridges, Shawnee Whisman, Michael Helton II (Leroy), Ricky Helton, Aries Helton and Erik Helton; his daughter-in-law Brenda Helton; and his great grandchildren, Ryan, Emily, Tiera, Christopher, Gabby, Bradley, William, Alex, Mia and Jonah.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Click Funeral Home (109 S Walnut St, Lenoir City, TN 37771). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Lakeview Cemetery City Park.
