He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Kirkland and Grace Kirkland; and his siblings, Sue Lunsford and Eddie Kirkland. He is survived by: his wife Janelle; his children, David, Kristin Kirkland and Stephanie Young; his grandchildren, Blake, Emily Kirkland, Brenna, Joel Richards, Grace Young and Jaden Young; his great grandchildren, Lincoln, Emersyn Kirkland, Samuel Richards and Baby Richards; and his siblings, Paul, Gretchen Kirkland, Jean Thomas, Robby, Penny Kirkland, Cindy and Keith Kirkland.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the New Hope Baptist Church (605 Dotson Memorial Rd, Maryville, TN 37801). A burial will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cades Cove Memorial Baptist Cemetery (2342 Duncan Rd, Maryville, TN 37803).
