He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. James Leonard and Nellie Franklin. He is survived by: his son Harold Edward Franklin Jr.; his siblings, Betty Jo Holder, Gale Goforth, James Avery Franklin and Howard Wade Franklin; and his caregiver April Ridge.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home (915 W Broadway Ave, Maryville, TN 37801). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Happy Valley Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery (2633 6 Mile Rd, Maryville, TN 37803).
