He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmen A. Sutton and Faye F. Fox Sutton. He is survived by: his wife Laura Backus Sutton; his stepchildren, Robert Sineff (Blaire) and Charity Glueck (Daniel); his siblings, Marvin Sutton (Ann), Mary Watson (Steve) and Ann Yeats (Richard); and his grandsons, Ohlin, Sawyer Sineff and Daniel Jr. Glueck. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
