He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas and Aleene Thomas (Gamble); his siblings, Jack Thomas and Jean Burnett (Thomas); and his nephew Allen Dotson.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Thomas (Anthony); his daughter Angela Thomas; his son-in-law Kenneth Cunningham; his son Joseph Thomas Jr. (Joey); and his siblings, James Thomas, William Thomas (Bill) and Lisa Orr (Thomas). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
