She was loved and cherished by many people including: her daughter Judy; her parents, James Shirk and Addie Caroline Shirk; her husband John Milligan; her son-in-law Lane Cook; her granddaughter Christy; her son-in-law Tracy Trotter; her granddaughter Katy; her son-in-law Michael Bronkema; her grandchildren-in-law, Caden, Carson and Kinsley; her grandson Braden Dill; her grandson-in-law Jeremy Cook; her granddaughter Hayley; her son-in-law Braxton Wilson; and her great grandchild Collier.

After John died in 2015 of advanced Parkinson's disease, she lived alone until she had fallen a few times and it was no longer safe.
