We announce the death of Wendell Wayne Sheppard of Mascot, Tennessee, who passed away on September 26, 2026, at the age of 87. Wendell will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Sheppard, and Elizabeth Pierson Sheppard, Sr.; and his siblings, Anne Noyes, Frederick Sheppard, Grover Sheppard, Jr. and Wayne.
He is survived by: his wife Terri Noe Sheppard; his children, Christopher Sheppard, Judith Smith (Troy) and Denise Benko (George); his grandchildren, Scott Smith (Julie), Ashley Strickland (Jonathan), Austin Smith, David Benko and Josh Benko; and his great grandchildren, Delilah, Riley, Gabriel, Texie, Silas Wayne and Daphne. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bridges Funeral Home (5430 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, TN 37924). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
