Hurstle Cosby Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Hurstle Cosby of Maynardville, Tennessee. Hurstle, born on October 27, 1936, passed away on October 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Cosby; his parents, Arthur Cosby and Jannie Cosby; his son Terry Cosby; his stepson Ricky Johnson; and his sister Georgia Duncan.

He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Rush (Frankie); his stepsons, William Purvis (Denise) and Sammy Purvis; his grandchildren, Brad Walker and Chelsea Walker Rouse; his great grandchild Madison Disney; and his stepgrandchildren, Robert Purvis, James Purvis and Ashlynne Bohannan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Trinity Funeral Home (228 Main St, Maynardville, TN 37807). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Skaggs Cemetery.
