He was predeceased by: his parents, Lannie Harold and Nellie Taylor Davis (Taylor); and his siblings, Ammie Mae Davis, Virgina Davis Ross, Eva Davis Doughten, Annie Louise Davis Fuqua, W. J. Davis and Taylor Davis.
He is survived by: his wife Ida Carlene Durham Davis (Durham); his children, Johnny Richard Davis (Rebecca) and Brenda Darlene Davis Gunn (Mike); his grandchildren, Stephanie Zumo (Kirk), Shelly Gentry (Clay), Will Gunn (Lydia), Josh Davis (Christy), David Gunn (Meghan) and Jesse Davis; his great grandchildren, Katherine, Emily Zumo, Emma, Eva Gunn, Ryan, Karlie Gunn, Isaac, Lillie, Micah, Anna Gentry, John Henry, Samuel and James Davis; and his sister Joann Davis Haley.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, May 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home (2400 TN-13, Waverly, TN 37185). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
