He is survived by: his wife Debra Atkins Melton; his children, Sherry Cherry (Steve), Scott Melton and Kim Wingate (Hawk); his grandchildren, Ashley McKenty, Kelsey Gentry (Jake), AB McKenty-Fuller (Shelby), Jaycob Wingate, Aubrey Wingate and Wyatt Counsell; his great grandchildren, Kent Scribner and Garlyn Gentry; his sister Joann Luffman (Dotson); and his nephews, Chris and Dustin Luffman. He is also survived by his loving family, church family, friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Anglin Funeral Home (402 Donelson Pkwy, Dover, TN 37058). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 3:15 PM to 3:45 PM at the Stewart County Memorial Gardens (1337 Spring St, Dover, TN 37058).
