He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Rye and Ruby Rye (Curtis); his former wife Nancy Doyle Rye; his siblings, Garner Rye, Oron Rye, Herman Rye, Thurman Rye, Opal Rye and Ophie Rye Dotson; and his nephew Franklin Rye.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Rye of McEwen; his stepdaughters, Melody Johnson, Sherri Miller, Tracey Bailey and Angela Downey; and his nieces and nephews, Jamie Rye, Jeff Rye, Ava Hinson, Amy Reagan and Kristie Rye Bates. He is also survived by 7 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.
