He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sterling and Caroyln LaVicie Luttman Murphey; his wife Louise Bishop of Whiteville, TN; and his brothers, James Henry and Murray C. Murphey.
He is survived by: his children, Beverly Cooper (Paul) of Memphis and Jeff (Nan) of Martin, TN..
