He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Moon and Annie Kate Moon; and his siblings, Floyd Jr. Moon, Frankie Moon and Gladys.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Moon; his children, Christie Smothers (Trey Mitchell), James Moon (Amanda) and Richard Moon (Misty); and his sister Linda Forrest. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
