She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Ray Tenpenny and Sammye Milligan Tenpenny; and her brother Josh Tenpenny. She is survived by: her husband Bobby Bates; her sons, Christopher Ryan Bates (Haley) and Robert Andrew Bates (Mandy); her sisters, Jo Ellen Davenport (Terry) and Kathy McDowell; her siblings-in-law, Barbara Tenpenny and John McDowell; her grandchildren, Addie Ryan, Henry Walker and Meadow Scarlett; and her caregivers, Joyce Nuss and Kathy Elrod.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel (117 Underwood Rd, McMinnville, TN 37110). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Church of Christ Benevolent Fund, Lunches with Love at Ivy Bluff, or the Parkinson's Foundation.
