He is survived by: his wife Betty Kay Sain Smith; his daughters, Stacy Wilson (Eric) of Sanford, NC and Suzanne Reed (Johnny) of Woodbury; his grandsons, Justin Reed (Sara) of McMinnville and Nathanael Wilson (Abigail); his great grandchild Camden Wilson of Sanford, NC; and his brothers, Michael Smith (Marilyn) of Houston, TX and Jimmy Smith (Mary Jo) of Manchester. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
