As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Alberta may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her sister Hannah Camille Mickens-Boyd; and her husband Melvin Burgess Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Pamela Burgess-Nelson and Melvin Burgess, II (Sandra); her grandchildren, Christopher Towles, Lindsey Burgess, Lauren Burgess and Ricky Blair; and her nieces and nephews, Tracey Boyd-Greer and Keith Boyd.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Metropolitan Baptist Church (767 Walker Ave, Memphis, TN 38126).
