With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alfred Lee Owens Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee, born in Linden, Texas, who passed away on April 29, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred L Owens Sr. and Roxie Lee Love; and his siblings, Jewell, Leon, Bridgman, Marvin, Jesse, Audrey Mae (Gardner), Laurence (Jeffries) and Shirley McClanahan.
He is survived by: his spouse Glenora Peek Owens; his children, Brian A Owens and Lisa A Owens; his daughter-in-law Anna Duron; his grandson Nathaniel D Owens; and his siblings, David Owens, Theodore Owens and Dorothy Owens Whitehurst. He is also survived by nieces, and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Alfred (Al) was the heart and soul of the Leon Owens Foundation where he was a charter member for 30+ year.
