It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Annette Thompson Popwell (Memphis, Tennessee), who passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry J. Thompson, Sr. and Lillian Thompson; and her son Charles Richard Popwell, Jr.. She is survived by: her siblings, Audrey Thompson and Henry J. Thompson, Jr.; her husband Charles Richard Popwell (Dick); her children, Lisa Popwell Mallory (Arthur Kahn) and David Thompson Popwell, Sr. (Selden); her grandchildren, William Neely Mallory IV (Kate), Richard Popwell Mallory (Camille), Constance Condon Popwell, David Thompson Popwell, Jr. (Alexis), Lisa Annette Popwell, Nora Kahn Wilson (Bayard) and Zoe Kahn Vernon (Amos); and her great grandchildren, William Neely Mallory V, Annette Williams Mallory, Joseph Orgill Mallory, Timothy Hayes Mallory, Charles Richard Popwell, III, Alberta Wren Wilson and Sheperd Vernon.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church (2404 Kirby Rd, Memphis, TN 38119). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pure Academy.
