She is survived by: her husband Mohamed Maulana; her children, Christie "Chris" Ray-Merriweather, Lora Celeste Johnson and Shale Maulana; her grandchildren, Miles, Jackson Merriweather and Rumi Abraham; and her sister Jeannette Thompson. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
