He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Sprague and Frances Sprague; and his siblings, Don, Bobby, Jimmy, Ruth and George.

He is survived by: his wife Gayle Sprague; his children, Melissa Danyale Lewis, Robert Arthur Sprague and Patricia Beth Sprague; his grandchildren, Daniel, Della, Trey, Lily, Becca and Garrett; and his sisters, Wanda Gatlin, Sue Hunt and Mary Jane Dunlop.
