She was predeceased by: her father Herbert Simmons Sr.; and her son Rodney Lynn Armstrong. She is survived by: her daughter Cheryl Smith (Edward); her granddaughters, Alexis Smith Krc (John) and Rachel Katherine Smith; and her sister Erin Blessitt.

Memorials may be made in Augusta's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, American Heart Association, or to the Dementia Society of America.
