She was predeceased by: her mother Rubie D. Howard; her brother Robert O. Howard, Sr.; and her husband Vernon Owens. She is survived by: her children, Mike Owens (Cathy) of Tulsa, OK, Lisa Ostrom (Kenny) of Memphis, TN and Gina Dalrymple of Memphis, TN; and her grandchildren, Angela Modlin (Keith), Katie Moreno, Brittnye Ostrom, Brent Ostrom, Demi Jo Jacques (Aaron) and Kendal Kaye Dunaway (Tyler). She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made in the name of BJ Owens to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Baptist Reynolds Hospice Home.
