It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bette Ray Callow of Memphis, Tennessee, born in Madisonville, Kentucky, who passed away on May 29, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lemuel Ransom Ray and Mary Shacklett Ray; and her husband William Cutting Callow. She is survived by: her sons, John Callow of Murfreesboro and George Callow (Marsha) of Memphis; her grandchildren, Jessica Ramsey of North Charleston, SC, Laurel Mastin of Hanahan, SC and Will Callow of Memphis; and her great grandchild Andrew Mastin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Music Fund at St. Mary's Cathedral, The Webb School, Bell Buckle, the University of Louisville Library, or Planned Parenthood.
