He was predeceased by: his parents, G. P. Armstrong and Fern Anderson Armstrong; his wife Opal Kay Armstrong; and his siblings, Rodney Armstrong, Pete Armstrong and Brenda Hollingsworth.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Poe (Jim) of Paris, TN, Tammy Poe of Dyersburg, TN and Angel Larson (Erik) of Dyersburg, TN; his stepchildren, Timothy Smith (Letitia) of Medina, TN, Roxanna Goodman (Tim) of Bogota, TN and Gina Pitt of Guntersville, AL; and his sister Peggy Ashley of Dyersburg, TN. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dyersburg Funeral Home (420 US-51, Dyersburg, TN 38024). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
