He was predeceased by: his former wife Janie McPhail; his siblings, Helen Ruth McPhail, Prentiss Hix McPhail and Ronald Mays McPhail; and his parents, A. D. McPhail and Eleanor Irene McPhail.
He is survived by: his sister Betty Jo Santucci; his wife Linda Sue McPhail; and his children, James McPhail (Cindy) of Oxford, Mississippi, Lisa McPhail Ellis (Tim) of Batesville, Mississippi, Teresa Lester (Johnny) of Southaven, Mississippi and Kimberly Allen (David) of Bartlett, Tennessee.. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, a donation to the East Side Baptist Church Building Program could be given.
