He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Cullion and Eddie Beatrice Nichols; and his siblings, Bertram Ronell Nichols, Willis Cullion III, Nathaniel McGhee Nichols, Ernest Philip Nichols and Ethel L. Bell-Garner.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Nichols; his son Joel Nichols (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Jennifer Nichols and Charles Nichols (Jayla); his great grandchild Cayden Nichols; his sister Cleo Marie Deadmon (June); his nieces and nephews, Fruenze Deadmon (LeTisa), Charisma Price (George), Rosalyn Nichols, Rita Fields and Randall Nichols; his sister-in-law Florence Nichols; his niece Yolanda Nichols; his sister-in-law Shelia Nichols of Gary, IN; his niece Rosita Bell; his sister-in-law Shirley Nichols; his nieces, Angela Nichols and Dionne Nichols; and his nephew Ernest Nichols III. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
