He is survived by: his children, Tametria Ackers of Memphis, TN, Toya Ackers (Cooper), Terika Ackers and Shemar Ackers; his siblings, Sheryl Gasque, Kathryn Turner (Curtis), Rose Parker and Ronald Ackers; and his goddaughter Maya Scott. He is also survived by five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
