He was predeceased by: his wife Harriet; and his parents, Jack Schaffer and Ethel Schaffer (Wolf). He is survived by: his brother Jules Schaffer (Yudie); his children, Jackie Schaffer of Memphis, TN, Dr. Kevin Schaffer (Barbie) of Atlanta, GA, Robyn Hodess (Brett) of Narragansett, RI, Karyn Parker (Larry) of Roswell, GA, Judge Susan Schaffer of Athens, GA and Larry Schaffer (Tracy) of Piperton, TN.; his grandchildren, Erin Fettner (Alex), Kyle Schaffer, Chloe Crosby (Richard), Hannah Hodess (Paul Delancy), Joe Schaffer, Sophie Hodess, Jenna Parker, Lauryn Parker, Parker Hood, Rachel Robinson and Irina Robinson; his great grandchildren, Sollo Crosby and Rivi Crosby; and his brother-in-law Eugene Sollo of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Post Covid, the Atlanta area kids convinced Don to move up to Georgia and they enjoyed having him there for the last 2 years of his life.
