He is survived by: his wife Thresa Downen; his children, Jennifer Doherty (Amber Doherty) and Zachary Doherty; his parents, William Pope Downen and Gracie Mae Downen; and his sister Linda Downen (Evelyn Downen). He is also survived by five grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
