He was predeceased by : his parents, Lee Wilbanks and Ethel Wilbanks. He is survived by : his wife Eleanor Wirt Wilbanks; his daughters, Deborah Dunlap (Conley Dunlap) and Lori McDaniel (John McDaniel); and his sister Mary Richardson (Albert Richardson). He is also survived by 5 Grandchildren; 20 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Forest Hill Funeral Home (2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis, TN 38133). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the Arlington Cemetery (5837 Chester St, Arlington, TN 38002).

In lieu of flowers to give in honor of Ed the family has chosen: Warrior Center 642 Semmes Street, Memphis, Tennesse, Serenity Recovery Center 1091 Poplar Avenue Memphis, Tennessee.
