She was predeceased by: her parents, Noland Ezell and Marybelle Ezell; her husband Robert Appling (Bob); and her sister Nancy Ezell Cottam King. She is survived by: her sister Elizabeth Ezell Berry (David) of Chattanooga, TN. She is also survived by five nephews.

Ellie requests that memorials be made to the Village at Germantown Foundation, Germantown UMC, or the charity of the donor's choice.
