He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Rushing; his children, Stacey Akin (Jason) of Mentone, AL and Bryan Rushing (Theresa) of Gore Springs, MS; his grandchildren, Heather Akin, Cassie Austin, Donald Austin and Taylor Binkowitz; and his brother Don Rushing of High Point, NC.. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
