He was predeceased by: his wife Sue Valentine Chappell; his daughter Laura Sue Chappell; and his granddaughter Becky Lewis. He is survived by: his daughters, Catherine Lewis (James B. Lewis) of Memphis and Jeannie Sandidge (Rick Sandidge) of Pueblo, Colorado.. He is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
