She was predeceased by : her parents, Ernest Stevison and Olevia Stevison; her siblings, Martin Stevison, Leebert Stevison, James Earnest Stevison and Earnestine Williams; and her children, Chris Freeman and Angelina Thornton.

She is survived by : her husband Rickey D. Thornton; her children, Stan Freeman (Nee) of Klein, TX, Adrienne Taylor (Ben) of Bartlett, TN and Alison Herring (Ross) of Bartlett, TN; her sisters, Avis Atchison of Waynesboro, MS, Iola Bunch of Waynesboro, MS and Janet Hudson of Waynesboro, MS; and her grandchildren, Tai Freeman, Tim Freeman, Angelina Herring, Lily Taylor and Holly Taylor.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 14th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Forest Hill Funeral Home - East (2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis, TN 38133). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 14th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
