He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jack" Nieman and Lois Gavin Nieman. He is survived by: his wife Sherrill Ann Nieman; his children, Gavin Patrick Nieman Jr. (Morgan), Samuel Hardin Nieman and Anna Bryan Nieman; his brother John "Jackie" Nieman (Joan); and his children, Stephanie Daniel (Ross), Bradley Nieman (Abby), David Nieman (Kathleen), Caroline Kinard (Austin) and Andrew Nieman. He is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the St. Louis Catholic Church (203 S White Station Rd, Memphis, TN 38117). A rosary was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 at 8:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at the Memorial Park Cemetery (5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gavin's name to Christian Brothers High School, St. Louis Catholic Church, St. Michael's Catholic Church, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
