He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon A. Lohnes, Sr. and Mamie Townsend Lohnes. He is survived by: his cousin Janet Ferguson.

As a lifelong member of the Church of the Holy Communion, Gordon requested that any memorials to be made to the Church of the Holy Communion in lieu of flowers.
