He is survived by: his son Richard Carlton Carter; his sister Helen Audrey Carter Breeding "Puddin"; his son Russell Collins Carter (Marilyn Cathcart Carter); his daughter-in-law Amy Sullivan Carter; his grandchildren, Davis William Carter, Elaine Elizabeth Carter "Lainey" and Lillian Collins Carter "Lily"; his niece Virgina Lazenby; and his nephew Darrell Breeding.
