She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Ward and Emma Lee Lott Ward; her husband James Merin Ashworth (Jim); her daughter Monna Bowers; and her siblings, Homer Edward Ward, Thurman Ward and Elnora Dupree.

She is survived by: her children, Roy Smith, Jr. (Deby Lynn) of Eupora, MS, Rhonda Bartsch (David) of Henderson and Leesa Settle of Beech Bluff; and her siblings, Wilfred Ward (Lynn) of Doniphan, MO, Ricky Ward (Karen) of Collins, MS, Ruth Mangrum (Jimmy) of McCool, MS and Cora Clemmer of Spring, TX.. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.
