He was predeceased by: his mother Nan Best Gordon; his wife Marilyn Campbell Gordon; his sister Nancy Gordon Heidelberg; and his friend Elmer Holder. He is survived by: his father James Aubrey Gordon, Sr.; his daughters, Leigh Wright (Chris) of Tuscaloosa, AL and Nancy Russell (Andy) of Franklin, TN.; and his grandchildren, Allie Wright Wood (Tyler), John Wright, Morgan Russell and Natalie Russell.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St Jude Hospital or the library at St. Mary's Episcopal School in Memphis.
