He was predeceased by: his parents, Burt Dempsey and Bertha Dempsey; his wife Marilyn Dempsey; and his son-in-law Danny Knight, Sr.. He is survived by: his children, James Dempsey, Jr. (Jill), Shawn Knight, Chris Dempsey and Alicia Byer (Dan); his grandchildren, Danny Knight, Jr. (Leah), Hollie Nichols (Andrew), Sarah Howard (Blake), Montgomery Dempsey (Amanda), Jacquelyn Brewer (Chris), Micah Dempsey (Bailey), Morgan Dempsey and Taylor Dempsey; his sister Ann Vincent; and his sisters-in-law, Sharon Wilborn and Dawna Schatzley. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Children's Home in Paragould, AR or the Shep Knight fund at the Oliver Creek Church of Christ.
